Day 1: Arrive in Bali & hit the water Upon your arrival in Bali, head to the organised meeting place to meet your fellow kite surfers, Ben Wilson and the other instructors. Then we fit the mountain of kites, boards and gear into the car and head off to the camp venue. If the conditions are right, you can hit the water immediately, either for a surf, or kite surf! If the wind and waves are on, we'll do the first assessment session that afternoon so that Ben and the team can evaluate your riding and progression plan in the evening after dinner. Days 2 - 6: Surfing in the morning & kite surfing in the afternoon Each day you can make the most of the Bali surf and wind. Our basic schedule is as follows: 6am - hit the water for a surf session 8am - have a leisurely breakfast followed by another surf or massage 11am - pump up and get some private instructions on the beach from Ben and the team 12noon onwards - have lunch and kite surf all afternoon 6pm - video feedback & discussion 8pm - dinner & bed Most nights everyone crashes pretty early due to tired and sore muscles, and to be ready for action the following day. |
Perfect Bali Wind & Waves: The location we've chosen for this trip is user friendly (in terms of kite surfing), not too many crowds and boasts fantastic surf and wind during this time of year. Not only that, but Bali is a great travel destination!
Balinese Culture: The Balinese culture is totally unique and permeates through every aspect of life. The influence of Hinduism their main religion is evident in the music, drama, art, costumes and festivals, which take place daily.
Kite surfing & Surfing in Bali Waves: The location for this trip is specifically chosen because of the ideal conditions for kite surfing. The wind is normally side onshore between 15-20 knots, making it ideal conditions to rip the ‘A-frame’ break! The wave at this location is a perfect ‘A-frame’, which seldom gets smaller than waist high. On past trips we've scored great waves in the morning and super glassy conditions, before the afternoon the sea breeze comes in (check out the photos and videos from past trips). Wind – We have had over 80% of days with suitable wind over the last 4 years of trips however we can’t guarantee that you will get wind everyday. Skill level – This is a wave-riding clinic; you must be already an experienced kiter and preferably riding a surfboard. We expect that you have some experience in waves and also sound kite skills.Land Cost: AU$2,490 per person
Single Supplement $600 per person

For this reason, there are no refunds due to lack of suitable weather conditions. For further details, please see our detailed Terms and Conditions of Travel.
Air Travel: Airfares to and from the departure point for this trip are not included in the land cost. We are happy to provide a quote for your domestic and/or international travel, or you can source your own airfares via the Internet or your preferred travel agent. Please be sure to check your tickets with our staff before purchasing or obtaining your tickets. We need to verify your arrival and departure schedule and ensure we have enough participants to operate the trip.
Seasonal Considerations: Just 8° south of the equator, Bali has a tropical climate which is hot all year-round. The average temperature hovers around 30°C (mid-80s°F) year-round, but the humidity can make the heat feel very oppressive. There are dry and wet seasons - dry from April to October and wet from October to March but it can rain at any time of year and even during the wet season rain is likely to pass quickly. In general, the best months are April to September, when humidity is lower and the rain is light and infrequent. So you should be prepared for warm weather and pack accordingly - the pre-departure information pack provided once you've booked will outline exactly what you'll need to pack for this trip.
Accommodations: On this tour the accommodation is in a family Balinese Resort. The rooms are very comfortable and are fitted with fans and the food is amazing and you will get to experience a wide range of Balinese cuisine as well as modern western meals.
First Aid: We provide a comprehensive expedition first aid kit but prefer everyone to be independent with basic first aid items. Your personal first aid kit should include: Pain killers, Plasters (Band-Aids), strapping tape, anti-biotic cream (prescription is needed from a GP if living in Australia), general anti-biotics (ask your GP), Diamox, throat lozenges, re- hydration salts & other personal medication if needed. Please be sure to read the comprehensive pre-departure pack for this trip to get an understanding of what to expect and what to bring.
